 Office Bearers For 2008
April 9, 2008 - Denise Rowell, Governor of Quota International's 34th District, installed the new office bearers for the Kingaroy club at a dinner held at the Midnight At The Oasis restaurant in Kingaroy last Sunday. The office bearers for 2008 are: - President - Sandra Tincknell

 International Annual Report Online
October 1, 2007 - Quota International has published its 2006-07 Annual Report online, including an extensive report and photographs from the 84th Quota International Convention held on the Gold Coast in July 2006. More than 450 members representing ten different Quota countries attended this convention! The Quota International website also includes a lot of information about Quota's work in many countries, history and Quota headlines. It also includes photographs from the visit by 2007-2008 International President Daryl Perrine and President-elect Toddy Silkman to Australia as part of their tour of the South Pacific Area.

 Going Nutty At The Peanut Cafe!
September 10, 2007 - Quota Kingaroy club members were kept busy at the 2007 Peanut Festival held at Kingaroy Showground.  Members manned the Peanut Cafe which included a range of peanut-themed food items including peanut sausages, peanut sauce, peanut muffins etc. The 2007 Kingaroy Peanut Festival has a "strong man" theme with a series of games where competitors could test their strength. The Quota team, ( right), has nothing to prove ... some our "strong women" worked hard all day!

August 29, 2007 - Quota International visitors ( front, from left), International President-elect Toddy Silkman (Washington State) and International President Daryl Perrine (Ohio) met up for lunch at Moffatdale Ridge winery, near Murgon, with ( from back) District Governor Denise Rowell, Kingaroy club secretary Wendy Tully and ( front right) Kingaroy president Sandra Tincknell. The international visitors visited Queensland clubs as part of their tour of the South Pacific Area.

 Nanango Student Wins Award!
August 1, 2007 - Nanango State High School student Ned Hunter is this year's worthy winner of the Quota International of Kingaroy Student of the Year award.
Ned (pictured at right with his mother Julie and Quota Kingaroy president Sandra Tincknell) competed against students from Kingaroy and Nanango State High Schools.
Each was interviewed separately for 20 minutes on their knowledge of leadership skills, current affairs, general and cultural knowledge. They then presented a prepared speech followed by an impromptu speech.
Judges Bernie Pegrem, Carmel Nott and Liz Caffery said they were very impressed with the standard of the all students competing.
UPDATE August 19: Ned represented Quota Kingaroy at the District 34 finals of the Student of the Year Awards in Maleny last night and took out first prize ... a $2000 bursary to be used towards his tertiary education. Congratulations Ned!

 Speech Therapist Invited To Address Meeting
July 10, 2007 - Speech therapist Daphne Cleaves, from the Department of Queensland Health in Kingaroy, was invited to address this month's Quota Kingaroy business meeting about her work in the local area.
Daphne (pictured at right with Kingaroy members Bev Young and Sandra Tincknell) gave a brief overview of her work and the support needed by local families who often need financial support.
Quota International has a special task: to serve disadvantaged women and children and hearing and speech-impaired people. Many international fund-raising activities target this cause.

 Merry Christmas From Quota!
December 4, 2006 - Quota Kingaroy's annual Christmas Lunch attracted more than 90 diners to the Kingaroy Town Hall Supper Room on Sunday December 3, 2006. Guests enjoyed a bush poetry performance by Carol Hutcheson and talks by guest speakers Rob Walford (Energex Community Rescue Helicopter) and Dr Keith Shaw (Royal Flying Doctor Service). Charity auctions also raised much-needed funds for a new Renal Unit at Kingaroy Hospital as well as Quota-supported charities. LEFT: Dell Wieden farewells two of the dolls she donated to the proposed Renal Unit. Six dolls were auctioned and raised nearly $300. ABOVE RIGHT: We distributed our annual fundraising profits at the Christmas lunch. Major recipients to share $1500 were the Energex Community Rescue Service (represented by CEO Rob Walford), Val Cecil (who is raising funds for her grandson's medical condition) and the Royal Flying Doctor Service (represented by Dr Keith Shaw)

 Maryborough Student Wins Regional Final
August 15, 2006 - Kingaroy Quota Club was honoured in 2006 to host the regional finals of Quota International's annual Student of the Year quest. The Kingaroy final was held at Kingaroy Shire Council Chambers on July 15. The winner, Lee Gaedtke from Kingaroy State High School, ( pictured above with Kingaroy Quota Club vice-presidents Marie Shaw and Alison Otto), then went on to compete at the Regional Finals held at the Copper Country Restaurant, Nanango, on August 12. Students travelled from all over the Wide Bay region to take part. Regional winner was Bryce Nicol from Maryborough.
